I dunno; this seems like a bad idea on many levels -- my first thought is the iPad* flying off when one of my kids slams the fridge door shut.

And what of the magnet? Wouldn't that big of a magnet cause some trouble?

(* = I don't own an iPad.)

Looks like a good place to store your only ATM card. :-)

Magnets should not be a problem... iPad is solid state. Dunno what sort of B field will affect them, but Magnetic fields do not effect LCD screens like they do CRT's. We used LCD screens on a piece of test equipment we cobbled up that involved the creation of a nasty E and B field. Worked fine.

But yes.. the concept of an iPad falling off the fridge is scary.

BUT... using the iPad as a 'family notification board' is interesting. Perhaps a fridge company will come up with an embedded dock that also supplies power ? A better use than those dumb in-door TV's.

I don't like that idea either. I don't really see the point, my wife has already used hers in the kitchen
for a couple recipes using her case stand.

This might be a better idea, but if there's kids it might be too high up: http://www.geeky-gadgets.com/ipad-kitchen-cabinet-mod-05-05-2010/

I've got some super duper magnet about the size of a quarter holding up a big fat calender on my fridge. You could slam the door all day and not move it. I can barely pull it straight off.

Those magnets worked really great with floppy disks (remember them?) !
