Newsletter Deadline Looms.. Writers Block hangs about like a miasma... - Paul F. - 08-26-2010
So I have this newsletter I do...
In order to get it mailed "on time", I have to have it to the photocopy shop friday morning.
I have two 8.5"x11" blank pages left, and I've got nothing...
I've used all the submitted material I had, I've used up the "filler" I had stashed away for two OTHER formerly-blank pages.
I've trimmed this issue down to the minimum number of sheets of paper I can reasonably use.
I'm out of "old hunting photo's".
Out of "Chicks with Guns" pictures (a popular column featuring women in non-stereotypical settings with firearms; hunters, competitive shooters, soldiers, etc... no cheesecake shots... Lord know there are enough of THOSE on the internet! )
I've spent the last couple hours going through the New York Times archives and some British newspaper archives for more "filler".
I'm half temped to re-run an article from 7-8 years ago, when I started being the Newsletter Editor, and see if anyone notices.
OK.. enough self-pity... I just had to vent a little.
I'll find something.

Sometimes when I'm blocked I start by typing "It was a dark and stormy night." Usually makes me laugh, which helps the process.
