Tell me again? - PizzaGod - 09-21-2010 I'm posting this from my 32GB, non-3G iPad. I've had it since Friday. Meh. Why did I want this thing again? Was I hyp-mo-tyzed? I'm thinking it's back in the box, back on Craigslist and I buy a refurbed Macbook. Re: Tell me again? - NewtonMP2100 - 09-21-2010 ....I'm waiting until Apple drops the price by something like $150 and pisses off the people that waited in line for 5 days to get the first ones...... Re: Tell me again? - rgG - 09-21-2010 It is much more portable than a laptop. Great for taking with you on a trip or to the local Panera Bread or Starbucks. Also good for couch surfing, and you can get lots of apps of your choice. Great as an e-reader and also for free USA Today newspaper, ABC news, Netflix streaming, etc. I have had mine since they first came out and love it. It is like a big iPod touch, only better. If it isn't for you, that is OK, too. Re: Tell me again? - blooz - 09-21-2010 PizzaGod wrote: How'd that koolade taste? Re: Tell me again? - bazookaman - 09-21-2010 If I had money laying around I'd get one. But i don't, so i can't. Re: Tell me again? - Rick-o - 09-21-2010 > "Why did I want this thing again?" If it's not for you, then gift it! bazookaman would probably take it off your hands!! :burnout: Re: Tell me again? - cbelt3 - 09-21-2010 Quite simply, you're a content creator not a content consumer. It's designed for the content consumers. Re: Tell me again? - ztirffritz - 09-21-2010 I want the 3G model, but I'm waiting for them to show up on Craigslist. The downside of living in a poverty stricken area is that few if any Apple products show up on Craigslist...unless they are hot. Re: Tell me again? - Buzz - 09-21-2010 It's for reading MRF; not posting to it... The revolution will be in education, when iPads are loaded with all the textbooks kids need; the kink will be working out the vig for the authors and publishers. My kid's HS textbooks run about a grand a year+/-, so an iPad for HS & college to load w/ textbooks would be a win-win-win situation, maybe. The schools buy used texts for 25% and resell for 50% (or 30/60 or whatever), and I don't think the authors and publishers participate in that "recycling", so digital textbook market is huge... I gotta believe w/ AAPL's educational marketing background, that they're busy working on Re: Tell me again? - mrbigstuff - 09-21-2010 I have to say I would like an iPad, but only if it were inexpensive. Ergo, I will not be getting one. The one thing that bothers me is the potential CTS users may develop while holding and attempting to type and surf on it. I don't think people have this issue when they pick one up in the store but after hours of use, I'm guessing the shape and lack of "handle" may become an issue, much like the keyboards on netbooks. |
