Mail issue - wurm - 09-24-2010 So as I alluded to in the earlier thread, my email was down for a few days while major maintenance was done at my host. It finally came back Wednesday, but I am still unable to retrieve my domain's mail using Mail. I can retrieve it using the host's web interface and even using Mail2Web, and I can send mail through my hosts smtp server, but when I try to get mail, it just keeps spinning and spinning. I don't even get an error message. I can POP my gmail, and my Comcast mail is coming through, but the mail accounts I have through my host aren't happening through Mail. My hosts tech support couldn't explain the problem and suggested I delete the questionable account(s) and re-create them. I did try that with one of my least used sub-domains, and lo and behold, that worked. But I don't relish the thought of re-creating my main email account, mainly because when I go to delete it, Mail tells me that it will delete all the mail I have from that account. Yes, I have backups, but before I resort to that, I figured I'd see if anyone else had a better suggestion. Thanks. Re: Mail issue - wurm - 09-24-2010 Never mind.... I did some more research and as a result, unchecked "use SSL" in my preferences. That did it. I just downloaded about 40 emails that have been waiting for me. Re: Mail issue - lafinfil - 09-24-2010 Good to know for future reference Re: Mail issue - NewtonMP2100 - 09-24-2010 ....that was easier than dealing with FEMALE issues.....non....?? |
