Best 10" netbook, and where to buy 'em? - john-o - 10-01-2010
I have a client that runs a non-profit, and they're wanting to buy three netbooks for their staff in the field in Nepal. Anyone care to give me a recommendation on a good sturdy model under $300, and where to buy it?

there's a whole bunch of machines with the same hardware as the dell mini 10v. can probably get them for closer to $200 if you shop around.

It's funny, but they want 'em with Windows, since support/software is very widely available over there. Not so for OS X...
So of the models listed on SDGuy's linked page, which would most of you recommend? I feel like Dell actually has the best reputation amongst the usual suspects. Is that not true for netbooks?

honestly, i'd check ebay. lots of nerds buy them and get bored with them. might be the best way to get the config you want. otherwise i got mine directly from dell but i'm not certain if you can anymore.
i think the iphone 4 and ipad stole the excitement from netbooks. then again, the netbook excitement was never going to last.
to get something nicer, look at the HP Mini 311. 11.6" display 3GB max ram and a very good graphics processor. might bust your $300 budget by a dollar or two.
