So would I recommend it? Well, if you have a large iTunes library that you want to stream, definitely yes, even if you have other devices. Especially since you really don't have another choice. If you already have a Roku, PS3, or other device??? Well, maybe. If you want to rent movies or TV from iTunes, it will do an excellent job. If you want to just stream Netflix and are happy with the other devices, you may be fine staying with what you've got.

He never mentioned AirPlay.
That's understandable since it isn't available yet, but when it's released in a month or so, it will provide a huge benefit (and advantage) to Apple TV and the iOS ecosystem.

Also, the use of iOS devices (iPhone, iPad, iPod touch) as graphical remotes for Apple TV via the free app "Remote".

Not yet quite clear on the impact AirPlay should have. As a convenience for when your buddy comes over with a video clip he recorded or a song? to play, I can understand it.
But "streaming from the MLB [or any] app" = playing from the MLB [or any installed] app … I don't see the difference. I thought AirPlay referred to stuff coming in from other devices, not installed apps. Now, if the app were on your Mac that'd be cool, but it sounds as if the real success of this will be when Apple TV-installed apps can do their thing alone.

...and iOS does seem like the Apps will be The Thing that makes the ATV.
I can't wait to see where it goes from here.
