Dead Pixel: two for iPad, none for iPhone - space-time - 11-05-2010

Leaked Apple dead pixel policy allows two for iPad, none for iPhone

http://www.appleinsider.com/articles/10/11/05/leaked_apple_dead_pixel_policy_allows_two_for_ipad_none_fir_iphone.html

"Apple's official internal policy on replacing devices with dead LCD pixels leaked this week, revealing that the company will replace an iPhone if it has just one dead pixel, while an iPad must have at least three to qualify."

So, is it two, or three dead pixels for the iPad to qualify? :dunno:

Click bait. We deploy hundreds of LCDs each year (monitors and laptops) and nobody's seen a bad pixel in at least 4 years.

It's a non-issue.

Yeah, that's a pretty crappy policy until you realize how few Apple products I've seen with a pixel issue. I reserve the right to get really mad if any current or new Apple products that I own develop a pixel problem.

iPad: 2 dead pixels is acceptable, 3 dead pixels is replacement

iPhone: 0 dead pixels is acceptable, 1 dead pixel is replacement

Was it so hard to read understand the 1 1/2 line I posted?

Yeah, at first glance. I had to click the link to clarify.

To me, your thread title was misleading, but whatever.

Have there been problems with dead pixels in any iOS device?
