.....still 'gettable' as a few stores seem to still have them...
.....the Radioshack website has it for $72.97 but I know it is on clearance in-store, so I check on-line and Ebay and seem they are selling for $50-$70, so I assume that will probably be the clearance price in-store....
....check available stores near me and go to the nearest one armed with my $10 off $40 Radioshack coupon (just in case).....
....asked the RS clerk if he had it and the price....
RS Clerk: I think so....think they are about $100 (he starts to check the price on the system).
.....then the clerks eyes bug out and he looks shocked....
Me: So how much is it?
RS Clerk: $19.97. Wow, this is a great price. Wonder why?
Me: This is the older version that they are clearing out. The new black ones are selling for the higher price.
RS Clerk: We have 2 do you want both.
Me: Sure.
The clerks goes to the back and gets them and starts ringing them up. I use the $10 off $40 coupon but the price is just short of $40 so he finds the cheapest thing is the store, a Lance Armstrong 'Live Strong' wrist band for $1 (part of it goes to charity).
.....there was sales tax but still came out to less than $17 each......

Holy moley that's cheap! My son has been wanting one for 2 years but refused to pay $75 to $90 for one.

I took the one from my son's XBox 360 (like the one in the picture) and plugged it into the USB port on my MBP. It shows up in the System Profiler under USB as a Microsoft network adapter. When I opened system prefs and went to Network, it did not show up in the list. I suspect it needs a driver. A google search did not find any.

Emphasis mine. What's new about 802.11a? 802.11a predates 802.11g by four years. At this point 802.11a is an 11 year old standard.

....that was taken from the Radioshack website....probably from the stock description from when it first came out......so, yes it is outdated but so is the product (for the most part)....since they have a new version out.....

The Xbox 360 came out in 2005. What does that have to do with 1999? Shouldn't MS know what the current WiFi standards are when designing a product?
