Nice.

Is it real change, or just a good marketing campaign?

Might not matter for the moment.

Its a nice feel good ad, but they could work on their AMI/Domestic Parts Content index.
If Toyota Ford, Chrysler and Honda can employ Americans pre-assembly, Chevy should be able to.

I don't think they are implying anything about change. It's just supposed to be a Thank You card. A feel-good moment, as billb has already pointed out.

Some deftly executed PR.

GMs original problem was that they did not have enough buyers. Has that changed?

They've cut production to meet demand at a more realistic measure.
So, while they might not have brought number of buyers up to prior production capacity, it appears they are more in line with 'they have enough buyers' now.

Agreed - nice ad. But I don't think it represents any real change. I still think GM does not get it. I base this on the recent commercial for the Buick Lacrosse touting it's "German engineering." Hello! Consumers are wise to that BS and have been for a long time.

But I don't think it represents any real change.

As mentioned, it's not supposed to, so that's no surprise.

It's still early yet, but I think GM has learned a lot and is on the mend. I really hope they do something about car body designs, though. They've been pretty bland for the last few years, and that seldom pumps sales.

The new La Crosse gets some good reviews from car critics, "German engineering" or not. They've got a long way to go, but I'm glad they didn't go under.

nice. Gotta love the 'viral' advertising campaign. No need to buy commercial time, or even get full rights to clips (like Popeye, Animal House, ABC news, etc..)
