I could not resist ~!~ - haikuman - 11-26-2010 Tiger Direct has this refurbished Expresso Maker for $59 http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-Details.asp?EdpNo=6311162&sku=C174-1058 Re: I could not resist ~!~ - testcase - 11-27-2010 Check it carefully when it arrives. I don't consider TD to be one of the better vendors. They are very legitimate and have had a good business presence and reputation for years now (and especially for those that do much business with them). I don't hesitate to recommend them to anyone. Re: I could not resist ~!~ - haikuman - 11-27-2010 I have heard that before testcase, but have other friends that swear by them. Re: I could not resist ~!~ - Mini 9 - 11-27-2010 I really have tried to like coffee. Just does not abide. Re: I could not resist ~!~ - GeneL - 11-27-2010 I was bitten by the same bug, Rudie! Breville 820ESXL Commercial 15-Bar Triple-Priming Die-Cast Espresso Machine by Breville (refurbished) Reg. $499 ![]() Buy.com had the lowest price I'd ever seen: $159 shipped. This is something that I've wanted for a long time. I have tried out several other espresso machines previously, but never found the "right" one. Mostly, they don't have enough room to put a regular mug beneath the portafilter. The breville models allow the use of a decent size mug and my son has the model just below this in the product line. His does a great job. Unfortunately, Breville does a crap job of refurbishing. I was forewarned when I was checking the reviews for this machine. When I opened the carton, sure enough, much was wrong. Called Breville. They're sending another. My fingers are crossed. Buy.com customer service said that I have 45 days to return it, if it doesn't work out. "TigerDirect has carved out a niche by placing a heavy emphasis on rebate marketing as a way to offer lower prices" See "Reputation" at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tigerdirect *Note I refrained from saying "back in the day." I can't stand that contrived "hip" expression. :barf: |
