Pages doc question - Go To Top - 02-05-2011 I copied a document from Indesign to Pages. I need to edit text now in Pages and won't let me. Can't find answer in Help. tia Re: Pages doc question - Doc - 02-05-2011 What do you mean by "copied a document" ...? How did you get the contents of your document from InDesign into Pages? What specific steps did you take? Re: Pages doc question - Ken Sp. - 02-05-2011 What kind of document was it saved as in InDesign? I don't think Pages can open an InDesign Doc. Re: Pages doc question - Go To Top - 02-05-2011 I copied and pasted the Paragraphs and pics. The doc was saved as an ID doc originally. Not PDF. Re: Pages doc question - Doc - 02-05-2011 So, you selected the text-boxes and picture-boxes, not the text and not the pictures individually? Then Pages will only paste from the image-preview. It's not editable because it's a picture. You need to select and copy the text from the text-boxes using the type tool and the images from the image-boxes using the selection tool ...separately. Re: Pages doc question - Ken Sp. - 02-05-2011 When you copy from the ID doc, make sure you are copying the text, and not the object that contains the text. In text edit mode. Then--look at the top of the Document window--does it say the name followed by "Word Processing" or "Page Layout"?? Click twice on the Paragraph and if it is a Text Box it should be able to be edited. Re: Pages doc question - Go To Top - 02-05-2011 Thanks much. Sending candy. |
