Is Glenn Beck the conservative's Sister Souljah? - beagledave - 02-28-2011 Add Joe Scarborough to the list of conservatives talking about bat shit crazy Beck is http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/02/26/joe-scarborough-glenn-beck_n_828624.html At this point, is Beck really "bad" for the conservative movement if more and more conservatives talk about batshit crazy he is? Doesn't it become their opportunity to appear more moderate..more appealing to centrist voters? Nobody but birther types and tea party folks really drink the Beck kool aid at this point. I think he is beginning to serve well as the Republican base whipping boy Re: Is Glenn Beck the conservative's Sister Souljah? - rankandfile - 02-28-2011 beagledave wrote: That's straight out of political game theory. In other words, Beck can still serve the extreme right-wing cause by becoming the scapegoat, a classical function that communities use to expunge their guilt. Having said that, it's still good that a few conservatives are speaking out. It's the right thing to do, even though some use it for diversionary cover. Re: Is Glenn Beck the conservative's Sister Souljah? - Pops - 02-28-2011 Beck's bizarre background has much deeper roots than his right wing political ideology. It really isn't the Glen Becks of the media that are frightening; it's the sheeple who salivate on his every word. Re: Is Glenn Beck the conservative's Sister Souljah? - Filliam H. Muffman - 02-28-2011 Flip side of the coin to what I said in the Newt thread. I think he is being used to draw people out to be targeted by fundraising, or to test what kind of conspiracies the extremes will fall for in the run up to the next election and how to get the word out to the older generation that does not understand the intertubes. Re: Is Glenn Beck the conservative's Sister Souljah? - Mac1337 - 02-28-2011 Let's see if I can smoke you out. Who do you like on the right? Re: Is Glenn Beck the conservative's Sister Souljah? - Seacrest - 02-28-2011 So, using that logic then, who would be the right's Flavor Flav? Who do I "like" on the right? The set of people I "like" on the right is of similar size to those you "like" on the left. You're so clever at this smoking out business. OK, so you don't like anyone on the right running for office. Don't pretend that if it wasn't for the likes of Glenn Beck you'd vote Republican. Your "outrage" makes no difference. Looks to see where I spouted "outrage" in post...mmmm..nope. Nice try. Looks to see where I'm pretending anything about my voting record....mmm..nope. Nice try, again. I DID point out that the outrage some REPUBLICANS have towards Beck may actually be useful for them. Reading for comprehension. Try it next time, mmm'k? --Pats Dakota on head-- |
