381 of 14352 incoming Mail Msg! wtf? - abevilac - 03-17-2011
In the Mail Activity of my Mail app it is saying that I have some 14K incoming msgs and it is trying to dl them. Huh? It's up to 1000 now but nothing is showing up in the window. thoughts? suggestions?
nevermind...it stopped at 2000 something without showing any new mail. weird...

You don't provide much info but how close is your hard drive to being full?

Did you switch to IMAP instead POP? When I sat up our iMac last fall it downloaded >30K messages into
the All Mail Folder from Google Mail.

Follow-up
Plenty of room on the drive [423GB available]. There are 3 accounts in Apple's Mail app: two are IMAP and one is POP. Right after I posted the 'nevermind' I noticed that I had triplicate emails for all three accounts from Feb 21st onward. Now, several hours later, all the dups are gone and I didn't do anything. All very odd.
