LA Lakers - RgrF - 05-08-2011 Bush league players. Not the way for a championship team to go out. Re: LA Lakers - hal - 05-08-2011 gawd, I hate the NBA and THANK THE LORD that NHL playoffs are on at the same time. Last year's champ was much weaker this year and barely made the playoffs - lost 3 straight to the team with the best record, but they got it together and won the next three and took game seven to sudden death overtime... THAT'S how you fight back... NBA players are LAZY... grab the low hanging fruit and leave the rest for someone that cares... /rant Re: LA Lakers - haikuman - 05-08-2011 Agreed with regard to Odom's and Bynum's "Fowls" They should have done that last week ![]() ![]() Rudie *(:>* Re: LA Lakers - haikuman - 05-08-2011 Congratulations to the Mavericks.... ~!~ Jason Terry, Dirk Nowitzki and J J Barea... They smoked the Lakers. I am a Lakers fan... But I admire the heart of a Champion... Rudie Re: LA Lakers - RgrF - 05-08-2011 Especially awful after watching the Celtics and Rondo survive the way they did yesterday. They'll likely go as well, but never like the way Lakers are going. Even lifelong Celt fans like myself can't like seeing this. Re: LA Lakers - vision63 - 05-08-2011 I'll admire the heart of the Mavs when they win a Championship Rudie. They should be able to get past the winner in the next series. Hockey is alright for a second-tier sport Hal. They Lakers weren't beaten. They beat themselves. And uh... The Celtics suck every moment of every day RgrF. Maybe they just did not have anything left to give, they played with numerous injuries. I see some big changes in their roster in the coming season...... Rudie *(:> Re: LA Lakers - vision63 - 05-08-2011 You know Jerry Buss. I actually don't think he expects constant championships, but he EXPECTS competitiveness. I hope the kidnappers released Pau Gasol's mom now that it's over. Kobe's ankle is hurt. His first step was always too late. They bodied him all series and the others just couldn't convert. Gasol and Bynum didn't protect the paint which forced the rest of the team to play too much help defense inside which left the Mav's 3 point sharpshooters to go nuts. They'll pay for that eventually. Live by the 3, die by the 3. Bynum felt the game should have gone through him and he was sore about it. That's why he clocked Berea. He could have just gone for the ball and clocked him anyway within the rules. But at the "beginning" of the game not at the end. The Mavs needed to suffer hard fouls early to keep Berea from circling around as he pleased. Gonna miss Phil. He really knows how to max out his talent. But whoever the next generation the Lakers assemble are, you can bet they'll compete. |
