Yellow bird weekend - Wags - 05-29-2011
Right now the western tanagers are in town, they stop over here in Portland for a few weeks in the spring before heading up into the mountains for the summer. I made a foray out to the wildlife refuge to try and get some pix, but all I got was a few frustrating glimpses of them through the trees. When I got home I was sitting out on the back porch and noticed a pair in my trees...
Then this little Wilson warbler practically hopped into my lap.

Nice pics. We've got a few goldfinches here (eastern MA) that seem partial to the sunflower seeds in our feeder.

Canon 50D, 100-400L, thanks. Pretty nice when I can sit on the porch with a cold beer and get pix like these. Don't have to get my shoes all muddy :popcorn:

Help yourself, I'm flattered. And yeah, the glass cost more than the camera, but I've had it several years and used a rebate when I got it so I'm not into it near as much as I would be buying it now. The micro adjustment option on the 50D really helped with the sharpness, but I think I have a pretty fair copy of that lens as it is, after I figured out how to use it.

Awesome ~!~ Really hot stuff Wags~!~ I particularly loved the Blue Heron with wings spread and it's. reflection in the water. I need a lens like that for my 20D.
