From a Mini, mini DVI to DVI, or mini DVI to VGA?

My Plasma STRONGLY RECOMMENDS computer input only thru VGA. I have never gone DVI to HDMI on it. VGA (1366x768) looks great!

I have used my MBP to play 1080p files via DVI to HDMI. No problems.

If your TV has HDMI, why would they recommend VGA? Is this for use as a monitor, or for video?

To a TV, DVI or DVI to HDMI should work best, but for a monitor, VGA will likely be able to reach higher resolution
