How much memory for a Dell Dimension 4500? - Microman - 05-24-2006

How much memory for XP and a Dell DImension 4500. It currently has 256mb of memory, and really is slow.

512mb, or more?

I have a 4550 running SuSE 10. I saw a BIG improvement @ 512 vs the stock 256. Got a little more zing when I boosted it to 1GB. It's cheap, so go 1GB if you got the cash. btw-Saw a BIG improvement when I replaced the stock 64MB GEFORCE4 MX 420 video card with a 256MB FX5500 (8X AGP), $40AR!

Of course, XP is a bloated code POS, but you already knew that ::o

Yes, I have been looking for a new video card for this thing. Always get confused on what will run Roller Coaster Tycoon 3. 1 gig of memory, and a card like yours would be great. Let me know if you see a sale, thanks.
