New Minis run Snow Leopard? - Tommie Milwaukee - 07-22-2011

I'm hot to buy a new Mini, but some of my Apps aren't compatible with Lion yet, & my understanding is that Snow Leopard will not run on the new machines. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

Really, really doubt an out of the box install of 10.6.8 would work on an i5/i7 mini.

That's strange. I was just having an online chat with an Apple "Expert" from the Apple store & she checked & confirmed that you CAN install Snow Leopard on the new Minis. Should I believe her???

In our testing, we weren't able to get Snow Leopard running on these new Mac minis. We tried it with the completely updated 10.6.8 cloned on but couldn't get it to start.

How can Apple let these so-called experts give out false information to potential customers?
