Tough act to follow but wondering..... - samintx - 10-05-2011 Last night on the radio commentators were saying the presentation was bland like a highschool math teacher instead of the excitment S.Jobs creates. True? I never have watched any of the Apple "announcement" parties so can't compare...but do you think it is a letdown so far? (no new iPhone notwithstanding) Re: Tough act to follow but wondering..... - Lux Interior - 10-05-2011 Steve forgot to hand over the RDF generator with the keys to the exec washroom. I never watch the videos. Just the play-by-plays in text. Re: Tough act to follow but wondering..... - Chakravartin - 10-05-2011 It was generally uninspiring, but it did succeed in conveying the information well. The Unreal Engine and Siri demos were intriguing, but there was a lot to sit through to get to them. Re: Tough act to follow but wondering..... - RAMd®d - 10-05-2011 Yeah, Tim was pretty low key. He doesn't have the charisma of Stevie. The fact there was a lot of the typical "State of the Apple" stuff didn't help much. But it was quite tolerable. I'm not sure that Stevie creates excitement at these things, but his obvious passion shows and nobody thinks "math teacher". I don't know that Tim will get any better. But that's ok with me. Re: Tough act to follow but wondering..... - ztirffritz - 10-05-2011 Yes. It was bland. Scott Forstall tried valiantly to stoke the coals under the RDF generator, but he's no Steve Jobs. Everyone else delivered a horribly monotone presentation. They could have had cardboard cutouts on stage with tape players behind them. The 4S is an impressive phone and iOS 5 will be a significant improvement, but if future presentations are going to be like that then it will be hard to get the press to show up at product launches from now on. Re: Tough act to follow but wondering..... - Chakravartin - 10-05-2011 Preparing for the iPhone 4S presentation: http://www.funnyordie.com/videos/4c50aa47bc/tim-cook-prepares-for-iphone-4s-announcement Re: Tough act to follow but wondering..... - rgG - 10-05-2011 Maybe they can get Jeff Bezos to fill in for Steve. He seems to have studied his presentations pretty well. ![]() Re: Tough act to follow but wondering..... - samintx - 10-05-2011 Funny. Maybe more truth than poetry. Re: Tough act to follow but wondering..... - sekker - 10-06-2011 The recent news says it all. I think we will have to wait for the next Apple event to judge the current Apple team.
