Lunch with Rush: OWS Protestors - Acer - 10-14-2011 Had Rush on for 15 minutes as I traveled to grab lunch. Here's what he had to say about Occupy Wallstreet protesters, and I am not really paraphrasing much here: 1. They do not really want to work. 2. They want the government to take care of them. 3. They represent the Democratic base. 4. They want their $40,000 in school loans to be forgiven 5. They want to deflect blame from Obama's failed policies to Wall Street. 6. They have been educated at liberal universities where they have been brainwashed into thinking all of the above. 7. They are squandering their huge potential by spending time protesting instead of seeking work. 8. They are costing the taxpayers millions. Glenn Beck (yesterday's lunch) would like to add: 9. They oppose the Constitution and our representative republic. 10. They are oppressing the rich, per the definition of "oppression" given by Frederick Douglass. (You know, the ex-slave Frederick Douglass. I can't find the quote--it was not the famous oppression quote vis a vis tyrants--but not for lack of trying. I suspect Beck was too busy counting his gold to read the context anyway.) (Dakota will be along shortly to add: 11. They are messy.) Re: Lunch with Rush: OWS Protestors - $tevie - 10-14-2011 Well, I suppose Rush has fun lying in bed at night dreaming up what kind of crap he will be serving his listeners for lunch each day. He's got to be laughing all the way to the bank. It appears. like most protester sit-ins primarily occupied by young adults, that they are there to: 1- Be annoying to their parents, or in the absence of their parents, "the Man", who is acting in loco parentis. 2- Hang out and be cool 3- Perhaps 'hook up' under those nice tarps. The rule was the same back when I was participating in environmental events of that sort in the 1970's. Never found a girl that would participate in option #3. And to my friends horror, my parents supported it, so #1 was out too. Re: Lunch with Rush: OWS Protestors - Mac1337 - 10-14-2011 Everyone of what he said is right. Just look at the pictures. Out of work, perhaps rich brats texting on their iphones and occupying a private park belonging to some millionaire while protesting Wall Street and millionaires. ![]() Re: Lunch with Rush: OWS Protestors - Ted King - 10-14-2011 [germ of truth but glib] cbelt3 wrote:[/germ of truth but glib] Re: Lunch with Rush: OWS Protestors - john dough - 10-14-2011 I stand with the OWS people over the people you so idiotically support. How much do you make a year, waterboy? Probably far less than most here yet you love just getting cozy with the class that cr@ps all over you. |
