App for identifying items - Kate - 10-31-2011

I used to have an app named Fetch where you took a picture of something, then it sent ti to a server and returned information on the item. Now the server no longer works, looks like they're out of business.

Does anyone know of an app where I can take a picture of something and get info back on the item?

Thanks

Kate

yeah, i thought google did that.

hmm. i just tried it. not very accurate. i also tried Amazon's app. worked good for a cd but not so good for random objects. Amazon's app is very good for scanning a barcode and finding that item online.

Google shopper is very good at finding things by their box art, book-cover and barcode.

It can be used to identify branded products by their labels or distinctive shapes and logos, but it may take several tries with such items involving repeated taps of the back-button and re-scanning.
