Lightweight Pan/Tilt head recommendation wanted... - Buzz - 12-14-2011 Would like to find a decent, lightweight, pan/tilt head, preferably w/ single handle operation to add to the shooting pleasure of the SX40... I prefer shooting w/ a monopod, though the tripod is always nearby when needed, or when leaving another camera in a fixed position. We've got some heavier duty gear than is necessary, so I'm vacillating between getting a new (probably aluminum) monopod that comes w/ a one handled pan/tilter on it, or just finding a new lighter weight head to use in lieu of the hefty, older two handled unit on the trusty old, well traveled, high-tech, carbon fiber monopod that has served us well for several years. Internet sleuthing has me convinced that there's only about a ten buck spread in favor of no particular solution going full-pod, or head only, so I'm willing to forego a couple of Subway sammies if the recs favor the more expensive end of the spectrum. Again, lighter weight is key; I know what I'd do if saving weight wasn't the objective, and only getting down to one handle was. Thanks, Buzz == /// Re: Lightweight Pan/Tilt head recommendation wanted... - M>B> - 12-14-2011 I like these combo monopod tripod things, heads are sold separately... ![]() Re: Lightweight Pan/Tilt head recommendation wanted... - deckeda - 12-14-2011 That's a TrekPod? |
