Will Romney get another thumping in Maine's caucus today, or will his fellow New Englanders bail him out of his losing streak?
Both Paulbots and the Tea Party have strong footholds up there. We'll see.

I wouldn't call it a 'bail out'. GOP voters who are likely to know him best have given his opponents more votes than him.
He left the Commonwealth of MA with a lower approval rating than Rick did in his Commonwealth of PA. Both had to get out of Dodge(s) to find any ongoing support.
Had Massachusetts been an early primary state, the Romney flotilla might today be sunk despite it's sea of available money.

How can anyone think these caucus states have any bearing on matters. Only a little over 5,000 votes cast in the Maine caucus.
So Ron Paul comes in a close second. Does anyone in their right mind think that Paul could ever be the Republican nominee?

It's odd that the two frontrunners are guys who can't even carry their own states. Doesn't bode well.

No, you are entirely right, but the caucuses give the bloated news media something to do.

Yeah you guys are right. It would be much better if the media did not report on the process Americans use to select their President. I think that would improve democracy a lot.

If you think that the media should be whipped into a frenzy over the opinion of a few thousand people - GREAT, some of us think that there is more circus than civics going on with this reporting...

You need better media sources.
I read intelligent reporting that isn't typically emotional. I haven't seen anyone "whipped into a frenzy" about Maine. Is the behavior of the participants sometimes circus-like? Sure. And that can be reported on intelligently as well.
