'Underwear bomber' gets life in prison for 2009 airliner attack

Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, who hid a bomb in his underwear on a suicide mission for Al Qaeda, was sentenced Thursday to life in prison for his failed attempt to bring down a passenger airliner on Christmas Day 2009.

I became further saddened from this case, when Patrick Kennedy of the State Department during Congressional hearings, admitted that Umar was a known terrorist, was being followed, and the U.S. allowed him into the U.S. so that it could catch Umar's accomplices.

Yeah, because only Saudia Arabia is willing to kill terrorists who are caught in the act? Puh-lease. On second thought, preventing women who simply can't get off the damn phone while driving isn't a bad idea.
