I need to know more. If he made a habit of sleeping with people that he could blackmail into silence, then I would say he should have been exposed since he was abusing his authority. If, on the other hand, this is a made-up story created in an effort to out him, that is wrong.

I'll go out on a limb here, but observing how things are, one day Sheriff Joe is going to be caught wearing pink panties. Which is fine. Just quit going around screwing up people's lives to cover up your own disgust at yourself. (This applies to others besides Sheriff Joe. That's why I went off on a tangent.)

It's a local story, why the national interest? Of course any wrong doing by a public official should be investigated. But the only reason it's blazing all over the blogs is that the guy has been forced to tell the world that he's gay.
