Monitor for MBA - Fritz - 03-07-2012

giving thought to upgrading my '06 MacPro to a 2011 13" MBA and handing the MacPro to my spouse to upgrade her from an older Gateway laptop that is starting to hurt. She no longer needs to be on winders.

I currently have a Dell 24" 2405FPW that I've had since my G5 tower. I quite like it.
Are there other or better choices out there for a monitor update?
27 or 30 would be nice, but not necessary. Obviously something that does display port in.
A couple or more USB ports.

I could keep this one and get my spouse another.

If you get a TB equipped laptop, why not get a TB monitor; the ports are great feature. Only reason not to get it is glossy.

Why not just keep the 2405?

$6.65 for the adapter: http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=104&cp_id=10428&cs_id=1042802&p_id=5106&seq=1&format=2

Get your wife a nice Dell U2312HM -- about $250 -- she will thank you for it =)

I second the 2311 or 2312, hard to beat for the price.

What about the idea of a 24" HDTV with and a m-dp to HDMI connector for my (I hope, soon to be) MBA?
I could then have dual use monitor.
But would a decent (LG, Samsung, Pana) 24" HDTV look as good as my 2405 does with the MBA?
