largest tv that 720p will look good on - lazydays - 03-07-2012 I view my tv from about 10-12 ft, most of my content is 720p (or lower), and I'm wondering what size tv I could upgrade to without making everything look terrible. I would not consider myself to be picky about video quality but I don't want it to be irritating either. Given this criteria what size tv do you think I could move up to? ps I'm currently using a 42" plasma tv and I'm very happy with how my video's look on it now. I don't see very much in the way of artifacts or blocky dark areas. They may be there but I don't notice them. Re: largest tv that 720p will look good on - tahoedrew - 03-07-2012 I have a 42" 720p TV and it looks great. I've heard that up to about 50" is the biggest you should go to 720p. So if you want to I think you could go that big. That said, 42" 720p displays are dirt cheap by now (I paid $1000 for mine probably 4 or 5 years ago); I'm not sure you can say that about anything larger than 42". ~A Re: largest tv that 720p will look good on - Lew Zealand - 03-07-2012 IMO, that's a personal preference. We have a 47" TV and I view a lot of 480p on it which looks fine. I can tell the difference with 720p and with 1080p at about 8-10', though the 720p to 1080p improvement is not as big as the 480p to 720p. Re: largest tv that 720p will look good on - kahuna1342 - 03-07-2012 720p looks just fine on my Samsung LED 46" This is from a viewing distance of about 8 feet. Of course, 1080p is much crisper, but the 720 is no slouch. Heck I even watch SD cable on it and looks okay, not great, but okay. Re: largest tv that 720p will look good on - Uncle Wig - 03-07-2012 720p on my 46" Samsung LCD looks good to me. Re: largest tv that 720p will look good on - Rick-o - 03-07-2012 I'm quite pleased with 720p on my 50" Samsung plasma. Normal seating is about 10' from the set. My iMac setup in the corner is about 4' from the plasma. It looks just as good as being 10' from it. Re: largest tv that 720p will look good on - Grateful11 - 03-08-2012 I have no problem watching 720p on our Vizio 55". 720p is classified as HD. Re: largest tv that 720p will look good on - sunfalcon - 03-08-2012 720p on my Samsung plasma is also just fine. I've had it for two years, but just do not have a compelling reason to upgrade yet. Re: largest tv that 720p will look good on - NewtonMP2100 - 03-08-2012 ....the TV just bigger than the one you currently have [you always want the bigger one that you don't have].....???? Re: largest tv that 720p will look good on - space-time - 03-08-2012 how good is your vision? seriously, makes no sense to spend $$$ on TV when you would better spend that money on eyeglasses. |
