Dr. Pepper with cane sugar - incognegro - 06-15-2006 available in Texas http://www.olddocs.com/results.aspx?cat=Drinks&subcat1=Dr+Pepper 'spensive, though. Re: Dr. Pepper with cane sugar - mrbigstuff - 06-15-2006 hmm, shipping is a b@tch when it comes to soda. for real sugar soda, i've been checking out some of the ethnic sodas. turkish grocery shops, mexican places. Re: Dr. Pepper with cane sugar - rob banzai - 06-15-2006 I got a case of that cane sugar Dr Pepper a few years ago since the Doctor is pretty much my favorite. It tasted kind of smoother, but overall not as different as I expected. Drinking from a glass bottle probably made as much of a difference. If I could get regular old Doctor in glass bottles that would probably be enough. Aluminum cans are just not as good. Re: Dr Pepper with cane sugar - Mike Johnson - 06-15-2006 rob banzai, wouldn't Dr Pepper from a glass bottle taste the same as from a plastic one? Re: Dr Pepper with cane sugar - N-OS X-tasy! - 06-15-2006 [quote Mike Johnson]rob banzai, wouldn't Dr Pepper from a glass bottle taste the same as from a plastic one? There's something about drinking from glass that beats aluminum or plastic all to hell, Mike. I played football all four years of HS. After every game we had ice cold Dr. Peppers -- in glass bottles -- waiting for us in the locker room. All we could drink. Prior to HS I'd never had a DP, but I've been a lifelong fan since. Ice cold Dr. Pepper straight from the glass bottle -- it don't get much better. :-) Re: Dr. Pepper with cane sugar - elmo3 - 06-15-2006 you probably wouldn't pass a blind taste test on that. You're just equating it all with the high school football memories. Re: Dr. Pepper with cane sugar - sscutchen - 06-15-2006 My daughter did a Science Fair project on DP... taste test between regular and diet. (DP's ad campaign was that diet DP tasted like regular DP) Most everyone could taste the difference. About 20% got it backwards. 2 folks said they could tell the difference if it was cane sugar DP, which ours was not. We're in Houston. Both folks said they drive to Waco to buy cane sugar DP. Re: Dr. Pepper with cane sugar - Lux Interior - 06-15-2006 I agree that glass is better. I like the 10 oz Cokes in glass bottles. But the best is a good fountain Coke, on those rare occasions where they get the mix just right. Re: Dr. Pepper with cane sugar - MacGurl - 06-15-2006 Ahh, I remember Pepsi in those tall, thin, glass bottles - 16oz. size maybe? That was the best, just as cold as could be and super fizzy. Probably real suger back then too, in the 70's. I'd love to have one like that now. Kathy Re: Dr. Pepper with cane sugar - Chupa Chupa - 06-15-2006 Soft drinks from a glass bottle def. taste better than from a can or plastic bottle but the difference isn't as great as it was back in the 70s. Coke in a can was awful back then. |
