Why aren't we hearing more about this??? - john-o - 04-26-2012 http://www.infiniteunknown.net/2012/04/22/fukushima-is-falling-apart-are-you-ready-for-a-mass-extinction-event/ That article says we are in a lot of trouble from Fukushima. Seems like we should be hearing about this on the news, doesn't it? Re: Why aren't we hearing more about this??? - michaelb - 04-26-2012 i dont think that is an article. Re: Why aren't we hearing more about this??? - john-o - 04-26-2012 What is it then? Re: Why aren't we hearing more about this??? - Black - 04-26-2012 This may be the most important thing you ever pay attention to, for the sake of your family, friends, your neighbors, every one you know and meet, all of humanity. OK, I'm paying attention. Now what? Re: Why aren't we hearing more about this??? - Numo - 04-26-2012 Take some time to look over the entire site, and I think you will find it to be quite alarmist about nearly everything, not just the reactor problems in Japan. My guess is that the information contained within is not accurate. Re: Why aren't we hearing more about this??? - Paul F. - 04-26-2012 Yawn... Re: Why aren't we hearing more about this??? - john-o - 04-26-2012 I guess I was curious what the take would be here, as I think we're generally more skeptical than your average Joe. Of course, if half that stuff is true, we are truly in huge trouble... I sure hope it's not anyway! Re: Why aren't we hearing more about this??? - cbelt3 - 04-26-2012 Teh atomz r nawt ur frends. And Godzilla !!!!OMG!!! Re: Why aren't we hearing more about this??? - ztirffritz - 04-26-2012 If half that stuff is true only Elon Musk has a chance of surviving because the Earth is toast. Re: Why aren't we hearing more about this??? - blooz - 04-26-2012 When i was in grade school, back there at the time dinosaurs still roamed the earth, we would periodically have a drill where everyone was taken down to the basement level of the school, and instructed to lean against the wall with our arms around the back of our heads. This was supposed to make us feel like we would survive a nuclear attack. Oh, those sweet, simple naive days! when ducking into the basement and holding your head in your arms would save you from nuclear annihilation. What that did for me was make me pretty blasé about all this stuff. Nuclear power stuff. I haven't read that article, by the way, but other things I've read pretty much have convinced me that that area of Japan is in a world of hurt. Is it worth it for the power we need to run our internet connections, charge up our "green" electric cars etc? I dunno. Who am I to decide these things? But I wouldn't want to live next door to a nuclear power facility, or next door to a coal-burning power facility (tho i would be better off than those downwind), nor do I support getting oil out of shale in Canada and piping it to Texas, but dammit, i need my car to get to Northampton where there is life and excitement and the things I need (dance, women, food and drink) and I need my electricity so I can ramble on to you poor souls, and connect to old friends on Facebook (who never wrote anyway when snail mail was the only option besides long-distance phone calls—back when dinosaurs roamed the earth). Ain't no easy answers in this world. There was a Seeker After Truth who came up to a Sufi teacher once, and said "I hear a lot of talk about what comes next in existence, about Paradise, and how perfect it is, and i want to know can you show me an example of what this paradise is like? The Teacher handed the Seeker an apple. The Seeker looked at it, and said "Hey, there is a worm hole here in this apple. It's not perfect." The Teacher said, "That is as close to Paradise as you can get on this earth." Ain't no easy answers. |
