dSLR remote, $4 - space-time - 04-27-2012

I received this deal alert for Pentax

http://m.slickdeals.net/f/4276156-Wireless-Remote-Control-for-SLR-Cameras-3-94-ac-fs-s4t?p=49591354&utm_source=dealalerts&utm_medium=em-i&utm_term=6492&utm_content=u222073&utm_campaign=tu-9999#post49591354

I have this one or very similar to this and works fine with my Pentax. Should also work with Canon and Nikon and more. I have no connection with this site. YMMV.

Cool. But how can it adjust the focal length? Do they mean aperture?

It might work on some point&shoots but obviously, it can't zoom a DSLR lens.

There's not a lot of information on that page but I assume it is an infrared remote (meaning it's useless for the majority of pro DSLRs because they don't use infrared).

Re: dSLR remote, $4 - space-time - 04-27-2012

yes, it's infrared.

Re: dSLR remote, $4 - what4 - 04-27-2012

The Nikon D3100 lacks an IR port, so this won't work.
