Before and after.
1 old rusty, dusty, grimy fan bought for $20, a can of rocket red paint and about 3 hours work.

Dominion Electric Corp. Mansfield, OH. The before pic is the original color, sort of a greenish off-white.

That's beautiful. I'm always restoring old things. I restored a 1950s O'Keefe and Merritt stove (which I just used for cooking some salmon) and I'm currently in the process of reassembling the engine of my dad's MG. The new stuff is all throwaway. The age of classic appliances, cars, and the like is over.

I've got one of these hanging around for at least a dozen years to refurbish (the backside of these is a white paint that gets a bit like your original fan). I'm thinking a quartz movement so I can use it anywhere but haven't been able to bring myself to take it apart.
