Latest checkup: still clear... - rob banzai - 06-23-2006
The third anniversary of my surgery is coming up next month. I had my most recent checkup yesterday after 6 months. The chest xray and MRI were clear.I had a CT of the abdomen and pelvis but I probably won't hear about the results for a week or so. If that's also clear then I get to go a year before my next checkup. Not sure if I'm comfortable with that.
I'd also like to say that I hate contrast. I hate oral contrast. I hate injected contrast. It all sucks.
I started with the old chalky yuck oral contrast, moved on to the yogurty disgusting chalk contrast and finally the not as thick yogurty awful contrast.
Yesterday I had red kool-aid looking revolting contrast. Watery, but still disgusting.
And injected contrast is bad. Even though the effects are brief for about 15 seconds it made me really sick. It's just a bad feeling that I don't look forward to.
And I won't miss spending another hour in the damn MRI machine. I'm a little claustrophobic so it's quite a challenge.

recently i was on a photo shoot at a new hospital and we had to photograph a few mri machines.
fat people gotta be getting stuck in those things.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
I somehow missed the original diagnosis/treatment, but that doesn't matter. Whatever it was, I'm just glad it still appears to be gone.

That is good news Rob! Glad to hear things are going good!
I know what you mean about the once a year check-ups. When our son went to once a year visits it made me extremely nervous the first couple years.
