We have let two NHL teams escape. However, we've also only had one professional championship in almost 50 years of having Pro sports. Warm weather NHL teams seem to exist only because people have moved from colder (NHL) cities and need a hockey fix. It's so foreign to me to see hockey in Miami and Phoenix. And when a team like the Red Wings play in L.A. half the fans are cheering for Detroit! I think hockey is so foreign in Atlanta that if the team isn't a winner it'll disappear quickly. The American cities didn't want them and the Canadian cities want them back. |
