I would bet on 649/749/849. Those were the 4S unlocked prices and what everyone else is reporting.

WTH is christianpost.com anyway and OMG what is wrong with their layout?!?! Smile

I never heard of christianpost.com before; they show up at the top of the search google news, they have the latest article (1 hour ago). All other are from yesterday. I wonder if they have some new information about prices, of they just have it all wrong.

Why does it need to be unlocked?

you keep asking the same question. I keep giving you the same answer.

I want to use it prepaid, on different carriers, I want to use it in Europe, I don't want to depend on jailbreaks and I want to have full warranty. and were I could be able to get a contract free iPhone 5 that is locked anyway? the only way to get a contract free iPhone is to buy unlocked.

Oh sorry, didn't see an answer previously.
If I were you I'd save a -lot- of money and just get a used iPhone 4 when the 5's start to appear-- it's going to be your first iPhone IIRC. Should be able to find a 32 GB in the $250 range in a few weeks. I can't imagine spending $650+ on something that's going to hit the floor now and then no matter how careful you are.

Used 4S is a great world phone.

I jumped the gun and got an HTC One X in June. I gave up a Blackberry Torch for it. The battery on the HTC is horrible. I will shut it down with about 75% battery at night and when I get up in the morning it is dead. You can not turn the thing off. I'm about to go back to my Blackberry. Any way, I am considering a no-commitment iPhone 5 for $649.99. A no-commitment 4S 16GB is $549.99. This is all through AT&T. The price goes down in January. Perhaps in the next month or so that will all come down.

Can you use an unlocked phone without a data plan? i.e. "dumb phone" rather a "smart phone".
