Much like we Californians giggled about the north east burpquake, the central california region is being peppered by TORNADOES!!!!
Well, there was one... kinda... they found a tree with a 4" trunk broken off 2" off the ground, but the rest of the orchard looked fine. A few tiles got torn from a roof. Several official tornado warnings. Wall to wall TV coverage interrupting scheduled programming.
People from tornado alley would be laughing their heads off...

My cell phone came on with some scary warning tones and the message to take cover immediately. It was currently snowing in North Tahoe. But it was scary to think about what people in tornado country do go through...and there goes another warning now.

I've been through one of those in real tornado country and it was scary as hell. A GIGANTIC thunderstorm - unlike ANYTHING we get out here. Driving around with my aunt and a couple of cousins and when that warning came over the radio. We parked, got soaked and went straight to shelter. You could feel the danger...
That's NOT what it's like around here today...

As a producer at a network affiliate, I have to agree. Local weather coverage has become ridiculous.
The wind kicks up, a raindrop falls or a cloud appears and newsrooms go nuts trying to get on the air first. Then they spend the next three days blabbing on how "up-to-the-minute" they are.
And it's all encouraged by the paid consultants...
