Good but I think that's still about $500 too much for the Mark III.

As for the Mark II, um, oops. Somebody at Canon better tell whoever runs their online direct store because refurbs are actually priced higher than new at B&H and Adorama: http://shop.usa.canon.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_10051_10051_214217_-1

Canon Authorized Reseller is selling the 5D III for $2799 on eBay (doesn't say how many they have at this price): http://www.ebay.com/itm/Canon-EOS-5D-Mark-III-Digital-Camera-Digital-SLR-Body-/180998819475?forcev4exp=true&forceRpt=true#ht_3380wt_1300

Adorama sold some on eBay a while back for $2749 (didn't last long).

Hard to imagine the III is worth $1500 more than the II, since the II was considered quite an excellent camera until recently. The tricky thing going forward might be timing a mk II purchase as the price drops but before they're all gone. The canon store had refurbs for 1400-something at one point...might see 1200 when they run one of their 20% deals.

I don't think they'll (officially) be any lower. I'd be that even at current price points all existing retailers shouldn't have much problem selling out current stock by the end of the year. Of course used prices will continue to decline but that's used.
