Because only one of the two major party candidates can win. Except as a protest vote, a valid reason, your vote will have no effect.

you're in a swing state. your vote actually matters. decide, dammit. a vote for a 3rd party candidate will tilt the tide Republican because Obama needs every vote. think about what you've (hopefully) read about Romney and what a country with him at the helm might yield. you have a choice for whom to vote but only two options as to who will win.

Your Vote Matters. Always has, always does. Sure, there's game theory and all kinds of other electoral crap. But it's you, your conscience, and your ballot. Out of the millions of voters, there's only one you.

I had to laugh when I read the "don't listen to anyone" for the mere technical aspect of the statement.
Me, I'd prefer anyone that hasn't made up their mind yet just not vote. No offense, but it sounds a but like flipping a coin at this point. I'd rather not have our future decided by a last second "oh well, here goes nothing" approach. I'd guess you know what you really should do and likely already know what you are going to do. Just do it and don't look back.

Many folk in that position are integrating all they know. They're not ideologically bound to one party or the other. They are thinkers and observers. They intelligently wait until the last possible second to reach their decision, using all factors in front of them.
The best hope, IMHO, for this nation is for MORE voters to not be ideologically bound. So I think you are incorrect.
