$350+…

Entry level?

Tongue in cheek, I hope.

How about a VM record changer that I used to play my Billy Holiday albums while I necked in the dark with my GF. This was back in the late '50s

Yes, entry level. I use to do work for high end audio dealers and they thought nothing of spending $3500 for a turntable or $50,000 Bowers & Wilkins speakers.

I'm lusting after it, especially after watching the video.

Good thing that I don't have extra money laying around!

Back in the early 80s, the stylus on my buddies turntable alone cost $5k. The platter on the turntable weighed 90lbs. His system ran about $85k.

Entry level to the sickness that is high end audiophile geekery perhaps. It's unlikely that getting a more expensive turntable would get you any perceptible (assuming a double blind test) audio quality but would get you bragging rights.

I too, worked for "high end" audio dealers, both in NY and in CA.

The prices you refer to are definitely NOT entry level. Rather, they might be attractive to the oft referred to "one percent," but even then, someone who wasn't an audiophile would most likely balk at those prices.

When I was in the industry, it would be rare for even a salesperson, even with a substantial discount, to purchase a $3500 turntable, much less spend $50,000 each or more for a 7.1 Bowers & Wilkins speakers home theater system.

Store owners… perhaps?

Are you kidding me? How many $50K B&W speakers do you own?

OTOH, I have wanted a B&W speaker system for years. They have been my favorite speakers since I first heard them at the CES, years ago. I'd have to win the lottery to afford them, though.

I didn't mean those I mentioned were entry level. I only have a lowly pair of B&W 601s.

entry level is an Ion for less than $100, with a USB connector you can hook up to your computer.

That is not a turntable. It is a record eraser.
