I've put it on every Mac I've owned and never had to pay for it.

Goes w/o saying, use a 'trash' email addy to register.
The Chinese folks @ macxdvd are notorious email list sellers.
I used a new 'clean' gmail addy and within TWO days of the MacX signup, it was hit with 71 spam messages!
