Yes in Detroit - DP - 01-10-2013

As long as they still have the stamina to do three albums in their entirety... And, who is Jon Davison?
I think I'm going for it.

Is that Steve Howe or the Cryptkeeper?

Yes... Big Grin

Re: Yes in Detroit - freeradical - 01-10-2013

They all look better than Keith Richards or Steven Tyler...

Re: Yes in Detroit - hal - 01-10-2013

I think I'll pass this time.

But I will say that the last time I saw yes, steve howe was at his very, very best...

I've seen them LOTS of times and have always loved Howe in spite of error strewn playing. He plays dangerously... and often misses a note here and there - sometimes the whole riff will fail. That's always been ok with me - his scores are high for degree of difficulty.

The last time (early 2000s??) he missed nothing. It was thrilling. He is getting better with age.

As in, "Yes, that is C. Montgomery Burns."

Re: Yes in Detroit - JoeM - 01-11-2013

I've seen them so many times I can't really remember the count. They are always great but without Jon Anderson it wouldn't work for me.

Re: Yes in Detroit - wurm - 01-11-2013

I'm an Anderson fan, too, but I'm just as much a Squire/Howe/White fan. The music works, and Davison does a fine job. Every time they tour, I figure it might be their last, so I usually go for it. But I've been thinking that for the past four tours. Now it's getting a bit like the boy who cried wolf. Smile I'll probably pass this time, as the nearest location to me is Foxwoods Casino in CT. That said, one of their best performances that I can remember was at that very same venue, for The Ladder tour.

Jon's acoustic solo shows are fantastic.

So, did they just have to photoshop Chris Squire into the picture? Looks odd. Maybe they still can't get along.
