Surface Pro = Mac mini (or does it?) - space-time - 02-07-2013 ![]() moe details here http://www.zdnet.com/surface-pro-and-mac-mini-more-similar-than-youd-think-7000010932/ I wonder if Surface Pro could be "hackintoshed" (although that would not be cost effective) Re: Surface Pro = Mac mini (or does it?) - space-time - 02-07-2013 actually there are some differences ![]() Re: Surface Pro = Mac mini (or does it?) - clay - 02-07-2013 interesting that they went with laptop hardware in a tablet, you'd think they would want something lower-power. Although if they want it to run standard desktop apps, that may have been their best choice. Re: Surface Pro = Mac mini (or does it?) - hal - 02-07-2013 what about that asterisk? what does it lead to? funny! Re: Surface Pro = Mac mini (or does it?) - Rolando - 02-07-2013 Why not compare it to a MacBook Air? Re: Surface Pro = Mac mini (or does it?) - cbelt3 - 02-07-2013 But can you slice vegetables with it ? Better battery life than a mini !!! Like, INFINITY better !! N00b! Macs are teh sux00r !!! Lol .. Re: Surface Pro = Mac mini (or does it?) - macphanatic - 02-07-2013 Better chart. Sorry about the quality. Couldn't figure out how to post the spreadsheet. The 11 inch Air (128GB usable) is roughly the same cost at the 89 GB usable Surface with a keyboard. Weight would be pretty close and the Air has better battery life. Re: Surface Pro = Mac mini (or does it?) - Marc Anthony - 02-07-2013 Does someone really care about volume as a spec? Re: Surface Pro = Mac mini (or does it?) - macphanatic - 02-07-2013 Marc Anthony wrote: Not necessarily, but when comparing products it gives a good representation of how bulky they are. The Surface Pro without a keyboard takes up more space than an 11 inch MacBook Air which has a true keyboard, much more storage capacity, etc while only waying a little more (or close to the Surface with a keyboard). |
