Apps store updates question - wurm - 02-09-2013 Okay, so I'm a new user of an older iPhone (3gs). It's running OS 5.0.1 and it does what i need it to do, so I have no real need or desire to let it update to 6. My question has to do with many of the Apps I've downloaded and I use somewhat regularly. On the iPhone, they're are 11 of them that are showing available updates. If I go ahead and download the updates, am I likely to be required to then update the OS in order to continue using them? Re: Apps store updates question - modelamac - 02-09-2013 You can find out by going to the iTunes store and checking the requirements of the newest version. Re: Apps store updates question - wurm - 02-09-2013 Yep, in fact that's what I just did. Thanks. I was kind of wondering if there was a more automatic way for the phone and the App Store to know not to download an update that wouldn't work with the existing OS. Re: Apps store updates question - Catzilla - 02-09-2013 They won't let you download an update if your device doesn't meet the requirements. The "update" button will be greyed out. Re: Apps store updates question - wurm - 02-09-2013 Ah...thanks. That's what I was hoping. Now I know. |
