“I always thought it was the Archie Bunkers of the world, the right-wingers of world, who were more resistant and more closed-minded about hearing the other side…” he said. “But in fact, what I have learned is, in a very painful way — and I can open this shirt and show you the scars and the knife wounds — is that it is big media institutions who are identifiably more liberal to left-leaning who will shut you down, stab you and kill you, fire you, if they perceive that you are not telling the story in the way they want it told.”
I don't know "the Daily Caller" but you might know them.

The Daily Caller - Founded by political pundit Tucker Carlson and Neil Patel, former adviser to former Vice President Dick Cheney, The Daily Caller launched on January 11, 2010.

Why would it surprise you to learn that even 'liberal' media is biased ? You can't honestly claim "right wing media bias' without recognizing that there is a ying to every yang.

Just about anyone at any time will claim that the media is biased when it publishes or broadcasts something with which he disagrees. There are many outlets, most established in the last 20 years or so, that were founded to put out a particular point of view, either right or left. These include Fox News, MSNBC, Current and the Examiner. The mainstream media remains mainstream--too moderate to please either extreme of the political spectrum.
However, attacks on the mainstream media are pretty much launched by the right, and I would say that the right wing audience is far more close-minded than the left. The extremes on both sides are entirely close-minded.
Poke around in the Pew Foundation website for a while and you will see plenty to back this up. There is also quite a bit on Poynter.

I think this is one of those anecdotes that a person would tend to like and think has some substance only if it reinforces their world view. Liberals on the forum post similar types of anecdotes on occasion for pretty much the same reason. But it is only an anecdote and it's by a guy who has sour grapes about his experiences so at a minimum you gotta wonder about his objectivity. Short of a "makes me feel good" sort of thing for people who want to believe it, there's not much more worth considering about it.
