"My son has the mental capacity of a child" - Black - 03-31-2013

"Never the same" after being shot in the head. Really couldn't help shooting the cab driver. Victim of society.

It's the gun's fault.

Agreed-- there's no way he should have been able to get a gun.
Considering he has "the mental capacity of a child" what does that say about how easy it is to get one in this country?

Black-
Yup. And how poorly we assist those with mental problems.

Yes- sadly, we "assist" them by making guns easily available. Finally we agree on something.

I think you'll find that I've generally agreed that restrictions on gun ownership is a good thing. I'm very comfortable with the idea of keeping weapons out of the hands of:
1- Anyone ever convicted of a felony.
2- Anyone who has been deemed a threat to themselves or others through mental illness , injury, or defecet.

I'm even comfortable with the idea that anyone illegally having a gun in their posession during the commission of any crime should have the gun immediately and permanently confiscated and the gun destroyed. And anyone using a gun as a criminal tool should be immediately convicted of attempted murder of a police officer.

"And anyone using a gun as a criminal tool should be immediately convicted of attempted murder of a police officer."

I don't think that's gonna fly.

So, the choice is basically a lot more jails or a lot less guns...

I was actually thinking they'd fit in pretty well right here.
