Ugh, what a sad story about her son.

I'm heartened by her response, however, and her absolute embrace of her daughter.

Not being able to watch, I assume it's a personal appeal for rational thought. Good.

True understanding comes from personal interaction.

I wonder if we can expect the LDS church to relax on this issue as well ?

I'd wager the LDS is still "love the sinner, hate the sin."

Thanks for sharing the link. It really made me feel better today. I have always thought Marie Osmond was a strong woman who has survived many tragedies. This just increases my admiration of her. Not everything is political.

Nope, not an appeal for anything, just telling her story and expressing her views.

Bingo. I saw the piece when it originally aired, and thought to myself how great a mom she is ...

I met her backstage after my friend and I got offstage after the 1st show. She was getting ready to play the 3rd show while Ricky Skaggs was out playing the 2nd one. There was no real dressing room and no make-up person, so she was putting on her own makeup herself and combing out her hair. Her band was sitting around talking and tuning up. She made the comment that she bet my friend and I thought she looked totally different without her makeup, which she definitely did. She was still pretty, but just looked a lot different. She was as nice as she could be and I've always admired how she has handled her struggles in life.
