Latest Tokina lens rebates - pRICE cUBE - 05-06-2013
I have been pretty happy with the results from the Tokina lenses I have used. Plenty of reviews and the lenses typically feel solid even compared to some of the Nikon and Canon equivalents.

I have two Tokina lenses for film cameras, one for Pentax/Ricoh and one for a Yashica that belonged to my mother. I wish I could use the first one on my Pentax digitals, but because it is a hybrid that works on either Ricoh or Pentax, it has to be modified by someone far braver than I am to work with a digital.

Why can't the 3rd party lens manufacturers NOT make the zoom backwards on Canon? :banghead:
I know it's cost; if they only make one zoom direction (that of Nikon) it costs them less. But surely it wouldn't cost that much to make a mirror-image zoom mechanism for Canon (and whoever else is backwards from Nikon) and change the paint on the barrel/zoom ring accordingly.

Actually there are some Tokina and Sigma lenses that zoom the Canon direction. Sigma in particular keeps changing their mind. I believe the current 70-200 2.8 OS Sigma zooms the Canon direction. The current 24-70mm 2.8 SIgma zooms Nikon but the previous version zoomed Canon. There is no rhyme or reason.
