Justice Thomas (finally) speaks... - davester - 05-07-2013 ...and sounds like a complete dick! I've heard several interviews with various justices, and even the ones I don't agree with at least sounded educated and had some principles. This guy however sounds like an evasive slimebag who never should have been appointed....IMHO of course. He did very skillfully diss Obama completely without saying anything of substance. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=whgcV8DapNM Re: Justice Thomas (finally) speaks... - Chakravartin - 05-07-2013 Very funny. You're doing exactly what he suggests critics would do to a black presidential candidate. Did you write that ironically? Re: Justice Thomas (finally) speaks... - Gutenberg - 05-07-2013 Justice Thomas doesn't do politics? Excuse me, but you don't get to be a Supreme Court justice without doing politics. Gotta cry BS on that statement, which he made about seven times. The justice doth protest too much, methinks. Re: Justice Thomas (finally) speaks... - Mac-A-Matic - 05-07-2013 Ridicule and abuse towards the most conservative member of the Supreme Court? Well, this is the MR Forum where anything and everything conservative must be bad... Sounds like the implication is that Thomas is supposed to be "down" with Barack simply because they're both black. Re: Justice Thomas (finally) speaks... - swampy - 05-07-2013 Playing the racist card, davester? He and his wife have made lots of money from SCOTUS decisions that Thomas should have been recused from, including the despicable Citizens United case. He also has ignored legal disclosure requirements regarding gifts and income that he and his wife have received. He's been appropriately referred to as an "ethics problem in a robe". Made it up out of thin air as usual? I agree, davester. His wife's lobbying while he is passing judgment is absolutely despicable. His "forgetting" to file, IIRC, almost a million dollars, sickens the stomach. And that does not even consider his failure to engage counsel in court sessions. You do know how courts work right?...and how judges must be impartial, right? ...and how they need to follow the laws, right? You got the "You said he "diss"ed Obama" part right. The remainder of your sentence is made up BS that in no way reflects anything I believe but apparently is how you read between the nonexistent lines. |
