Except for attending a sporting event (as far as I know) all these already require govt. issued id. Maybe not for getting a gun, which is (would be) completely idiotic.

Sorry about that . You see, while an undergrad , I worked as an assistant on a USAF contract to build facial recognition algorithms . What did I do ?
I took B&W frontal and profile shots of over 200 people with a Nikon F1. For the test database.
