"An attorney for three women had told CNN that they were hoping for a plea deal because they do not want to take the stand at Castro's trial.
Castro was charged with 977 counts, including aggravated murder on suspicion of ending the pregnancy of one of his alleged captives. Under the deal, he agreed to plead guilty to 937 counts.

A good deal. These young women are trying to come to grips with their restored lives, interrupted in their childhood, after a decade of rape and torture and imprisonment. They do not need to be subject to a 'spirited defense' which would make them relive their lives, or somehow 'blame' them. The maniac is behind bars for all time, and is no longer a threat to society.

If it works for the victims, that's good enough for me.
Regardless, even segregated from the general prison population, I suspect he's on a ticking clock to likely a pretty grisly end somewhere down the line far short of "life".

Someone will get to him somehow. Interesting how among the murderers and armed robbers, etc., there is a code of honor that they all hate sex offenders and don't tolerate that type of prisoner. He will wish he accepted the death penalty...
