The flute thread below got me to a-wondering just how ragtag the MRF ensemble we could put together would look.
What do you play? No skinflutes/radio/pocket pool etc. please...

I played the tuba in JHS to College. Does that count? Of course, that was over 25 years ago....

I played sax for 5 years, then switched to drums and did that for the next 11-12 years, mainly rock, gigging for the last 7 years with a couple different bands.

Guitar, bass, and blues harmonica. I can play chords on piano and organ, but not very good.

In high school I played clarinet, alto sax, and baritone horn, but not all at the same time. Not so good for jam sessions, but if we put together a MRF Marching Band, count me in.

Have been paid for (which I consider means I can "play" them):
Trombone (main instrument)
Trumpet
Euphonium
Tuba
Can play well enough to teach:
Flute
Clarinet
Oboe (but just barely)
Sax
Horn
Percussion (snare, bells, auxiliary instruments,set)
A poll on this would be kind of fun. That way we can see what kind of instrumentation we'd have. I'll leave that to Black, though.

I've been told I play a mean kazoo, and can strum a ukelele well enough to make a couple of chords work. My parent's attempts to make me musical failed miserably. Five years of piano lessons and I never, ever, ever got my left hand to work independently of my right. Two years of Violin (in public school, remember when they did that ? ) and I never got past the "Who is murdering that cat !". My next attempt will be the guitar, but my right arm doesn't work well, and holding it properly is painful. Sad, too, because it's my late father's Martin 0018.

Violin for many years, fairly seriously as a teen. Orchestras, solos at events, strolling at restaurants. Broke my important left wrist and was never quite the same... now I pick it up occasionally but usually disappoint myself. I can still play, though, and have a few nice instruments.
I'm trying to teach myself accordion... the problem is the 40lb size of the thing, the upside-down piano keyboard(I did play piano for a few years, enough to get used to the orientation), and the 120 different chord buttons to memorize. But, I enjoy messing around with rock music on it.
